Starlight Deliveries Give Happiness This Holiday Season
This year, Starlight delivered hundreds of thousands of books, toys, games, crafts, and other fun items directly to seriously ill kids across the country.
So many of these kids will be stuck in the hospital during the holiday season, missing out on the celebrations and traditions they love. Long hospital stays can be boring and scary when you’re not feeling well, alone in your room, or stuck in isolation.
With visitations limited and playrooms closed due to COVID-19, our hospital partners have been turning to Starlight Deliveries to entertain and comfort pediatric patients. Deliveries have been making a difference throughout 2020 because, unlike in-person programs or events, they can continue during the coronavirus pandemic.
Starlight Deliveries help normalize the hospital experience which has been especially important during this unusual year. The variety of items provide hospitalized kids with relief from stressful situations through fun, relaxing activities.

“Bringing happiness to our pediatric patients through comfort gifts often reduces their fear of being in a medical environment and helps them be more receptive to necessary medical treatment,” said Margie Dolinski, Executive Director at LAC+USC Medical Center.
Each hospital can order exactly what they need, exactly when they need it, and in exactly the amount they want from Starlight. Thanks to the generosity of our corporate partners, individual donors, and foundations, we’re able to deliver these products at no cost to our network of more than 800 hospitals across the U.S.
