SnaxBreak and The Pantry are Full of Generosity for Sick Kids
Twitch streamer SnaxBreak truly understands the intersection of mental and physical health. As a registered nurse, Snax helps his patients feel better every day. In his free time, he brings joy to his online community, The Pantry, through streaming video games!
The Pantry is cozy, welcoming, and chaotically wholesome—just like Snax! He brings happiness and positivity to all aspects of life, which is especially important during the COVID-19 pandemic.
When he heard about Stream For Starlight in September 2020, he was thrilled to join. After all, he’s seen the first-hand difference smiles in the hospital can make.
“With my background as a registered nurse and my mother-in-law, who works in the neonatal intensive care unit, this opportunity to deliver happiness and do good was a perfect combination!” said Snax.
And his community was ready to rally! During a marathon Animal Crossing: New Horizons stream, they raised $5,000 to place a Starlight Gaming station at Ogden Regional Medical Center in Ogden, UT.
"We had this fundraiser back in September 2020, at perhaps the peak of COVID-19, while hospitals were placing policies not allowing visitors to see patients. I can’t imagine how scary that is for a child who possibly wasn’t able to see their parents during these times. Not to mention all the stress that was involved in dealing with their current situation and illness.”
In honor of the Gaming station placement, Snax received a sweet box of cookies and Starlight swag.Video:
“Starlight’s mission aligns so well with what I advocate for and working [together] was a no-brainer! My community and I truly appreciate what Starlight does for these children. I hope this Gaming station will help them push through this tough time!”
This Gaming station will provide hours of fun and distraction playing Nintendo video games and streaming movies and TV shows.
Manufactured to meet strict infection safety protocols and roll anywhere in the hospital, health care professionals can use Starlight Gaming stations in the ER, a playroom, a treatment room, and even bedside for a patient in isolation.
Thank you, Snax and The Pantry!
