Delivering Happiness and Disney Magic in Georgia

Starlight delivers happiness to seriously ill kids because we know happy kids heal faster. From laughing with a child life specialist to playing with friends, even small moments of happiness can make a difference.

Supporters like Disney and Lucasfilm make it possible to deliver Starlight programs with a bit of magic. Together, we provide Disney-themed Starlight Gowns featuring kids’ favorite characters and entertaining Virtual Reality games to hospitals across the country.

Patients at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Georgia, are so grateful for their Disney-themed Gowns and Virtual Reality games.

“During these challenging times, the impact of such gifts extends well beyond the patient to parents and staff as they make hospital admission a bit brighter and reduce fear and anxiety regarding the hospital environment,” said Deanna, Certified Child Life Specialist at Piedmont Athens Regional.

These Minnie Mouse-themed Starlight Gowns are a cute option for patients like Addison and Sophia.

“Just last week, we had a toddler refusing her breathing treatments and crying—until her Minnie Mouse-themed Gown arrived! She loves Minnie Mouse and was all smiles and cooperative with her treatment from that point forward,” said Deanna.

Always the jokester, Jordyn excitedly showed off her Goofy-themed Gown. “Goofy is so funny like me,” she said.

Jailyn works hard to help his patients feel better as Dr. Mickey Mouse.

Dressed in a Chewbacca-themed Starlight Gown, Samuel repaired Star Wars androids using Starlight VR during a procedure. He was so entertained by the game that he didn’t even notice his IV. “This is the most fun I’ve ever had!” Samuel said.

Thanks to our friends at Disney and Lucasfilm, seriously ill kids across the country can safely escape the hospital environment. That’s magical!
