Celebrating National Physical Therapy Month

The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital is home to the only inpatient pediatric rehabilitation program in the state. The incredible staff at their Pediatric Medical Rehabilitation Unit (PMRU) care for kids of all ages that have experienced traumatic or congenital injury, sudden illness, or post-surgical recovery. The team works with families to develop individualized rehabilitation plans that optimize mobility, healing, and independence of patients in their care. With the support of a team of incredible therapists, kids and their families have the training and resources they need for a smooth transition to home, school, and the community.

One of the best things about working in pediatrics is not only providing these opportunities but witnessing them experience something for the very first time and including the family. We are able to initiate meaningful interactions between our patients and their families, by showing the families just what their child can do.
