Starlight's Mission Delivered: 2023 Year in Review
When a child is hospitalized, it is often a stressful and emotional experience, even when in the best possible care. They are taken out of the comforts of their everyday life – family, friends, their favorite activities – and into the unfamiliar hospital setting. Already facing difficulty from their medical condition, these factors make their stay more challenging.
But in 2023, we helped more hospitalized kids feel happier than ever, with the help of our supporters.

Over three million hospitalized kids have been impacted by Starlight programs. That’s three million kids who have experienced less anxiety and stress, feel more prepared to face treatments, and were distracted from endless pokes and pains.
724 healthcare facilities
We worked with 724 healthcare facilities across the US, including freestanding children’s hospitals, community hospitals, hospice care facilities, and facilities in medically underserved and vulnerable communities. As a mission-driven organization, we work to ensure that all children and their families can experience the happiness and transformative power Starlight programs.

As we help kids navigate the challenges of hospitalization and illness, they can find their inner strength and develop lifelong coping skills.
With each Starlight program delivered and each smile created, we come one step closer to fulfilling our vision: improving every child’s mental and emotional well-being to help them thrive as they navigate a serious illness or injury.
