Starlight VR Makes Hospital Easier Place for Zach to be
Meet Zach
Zach is a courageous six-year-old who has been facing a challenging medical journey since he was an infant. Diagnosed with congenital diaphragmatic hernia, or CDH, his first three major surgeries were all before he turned seven months old.
Since April, Zach has been residing at his local children's hospital, undergoing multiple surgeries, facing the ups and downs of medical procedures, and celebrating his sixth birthday and Halloween in his hospital room. Despite these hardships, Zach finds happiness using Starlight Virtual Reality, which helps shift his focus and create positive experiences during moments when he feels down, worried, or scared.
Now, he's on the path toward home, and his family eagerly anticipates the day the hospital discharges Zach. His journey, marked by his resilience and the kindness of donors like you, reminds us of the difference we make when we come together to #GiveHappiness to hospitalized kids.
"Being there for kids throughout their journey [is a] simple little thing [but] it is the best thing, especially when hospitalized," says Zach's father, William.
More than ever, together we can make a difference in the lives of children like Zach this holiday season.
