Running to Deliver Smiles: runDisney Princess Half Marathon

Starlight is excited to be the celebrated charity of the runDisney Princess Half Marathon! From February 24-27, runners and Disney fans alike will flock to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida to participate in this festive event. Participants have already fundraised nearly $40,000 for Starlight, bringing critical support and awareness to our mission to deliver happiness to hospitalized kids.  

In addition to sharing the impact of our programs with runners at the starting line, Starlight will invite runDisney guests to see firsthand how Starlight delivers happiness by visiting the event expo hosted at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. From a touch-and-feel experience with our cozy hospital gowns to testing their video game skills on a Starlight Gaming station, guests can learn how Starlight programs bring moments of joy to sick kids when they need it most.  

As part of the Ultimate Princess Celebration, Disney has teamed up with Starlight to donate Disney Princess-themed hospital gowns to spark moments of joy in children’s hospitals throughout the US. Visitors to the runDisney Expo will be the first ones to see these brand-new designs in person as they are making their way to our hospitals right now. 

About Our Collaboration 

Since 2001, The Walt Disney Company and Starlight Children’s Foundation have collaborated to deliver happiness to seriously ill children and their families. In support of Disney’s commitment to reimagining the patient journey in children’s hospitals, Starlight delivers Disney-themed Starlight Gowns, Disney care packages, and Disney deliveries to provide a sense of comfort and normalcy to children during their hospital stay.
