Celebrating Starlight’s Commitment to Transparency and Accountability
Did you hear the news?
Starlight Children’s Foundation just received its seventh consecutive 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator!
Charity Navigator reviews more than 1.5 million US charities annually, and Starlight has the distinct honor of being just one of 13% of charities that have received at least 7 consecutive 4-star evaluations. We are proud to be in a league of our own when it comes to fiscal responsibility and transparency, ranking higher than many of the country’s top children’s charities.
In a letter to Starlight, Charity Navigator President and CEO Michael Thatcher wrote, “This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator sets Starlight Children's Foundation apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness."
As recent economic challenges have forever affected the nonprofit sector, there is an unprecedented demand from donors for greater accountability and transparency from the organizations they choose to support. Charity Navigator is the gold standard in providing donors with essential information needed to give them greater confidence in the charitable choices they make.
“This is our highest possible rating and indicates that your organization adheres to sector best practices and executes its mission in a financially efficient way,” wrote Michael Thatcher. “Attaining a 4-star rating verifies that Starlight Children's Foundation exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in your area of work.”
Starlight works hard to ensure that every donation is put to work in support of our mission to deliver happiness to seriously ill kids. With over 500 hospital partners across the US, we are able to direct donations where they are needed, ensuring maximum impact for each donation. We are grateful for this distinction from Charity Navigator and remain steadfast in our goal to bring comfort and moments of joy to every single child who needs us.
